In Honor of Petey (2009-2010)
2009-2010
We love you more than words could express!
You are and will always be part of our AARF family and always in our HEARTS !!!
We miss you so ....
You were never a foster but a permanent fixture in our lives.
Dear AARF Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you. Petey passed on 5.20.10 following complications from surgery. The six months we spent with Petey, albeit too short, were better than not having Petey touch our lives. Our story is a short but happy one:
Petey found us one Saturday afternoon in December at PetSmart. It was love at first snuggle. We just knew we had to give him a forever home. Petey was a mischievous character with his under bite, playful eyes and wiggly tail. He was the perfect addition to our family. His older brother, Roy, welcomed him and they were fast friends. They loved romping in the backyard, playing tug-o-war, and napping on the couch. Petey had a zest for life that could not be duplicated. You could not help but love him and feel loved by him! In his short, but fulfilling life he was a running companion, cuddle bug and great little brother. Petey Pete was deeply loved, will be greatly missed, and forever in our hearts.
Sarah, Rob, Roy

Tribute to a Best Friend Sunlight streams through the window pane onto a spot on the floor..... then I remember, it's where you used to lie, but now you are no more. Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound..... then I remember, it's where your paws would joyously abound. A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill, then I remember, it can't be yours..... your golden voice is still. But I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall, and lay them with the absent voice and unused dish along the wall. I'll wrap these treasured memories in a blanket of my love, and keep them for my best friend until we meet above. - Author Unknown |
