Hello! My name is Chester and I am a Maine Coon Mix for sure. Check out the fur clumps coming between my toes! I was found at the dump (for real) in a rural county. This dump does not have ferals or other cats; however, someone dumped me at the dump. There is an attendant there all the time and he has never seen a cat dumped before. I was not neutered and am young and gorgeous. I WAS COVERED IN MATS WHICH HAD STICKY BURRS IN EACH. WHEN MY FOSTER MOM TRIED TO REMOVE THEM, I KEPT SCREAMING; SO, THE VET HAD TO DO IT BECAUSE THESE THINGS WERE STICKING INTO MY SKIN AND VERY PAINFUL.

After my grooming, I became a bed partner to anyone in any bed! I love my new friends who are dogs and cats. Please adopt me, never dump me, keep me inside only, and treasure me just because I am important.

Hello! My name is Phoebe and I am a longhaired cat. I am the luckiest cat in the whole USA. I was in a kill shelter with no place to go but “down”. I had been there for months just hoping I would be adopted or rescued. Well, two weeks ago, about the second week in January 2013, IT HAPPENED! These two older ladies took me in a carrier in a car and to a vet. I ended up being fostered by Eric and Jessica. I am just about full grown,.spayed, etc.

Hello! My name is Sugar Bear.

I am young gentleman who has just finished my first ever vet visit. It was not bad at all. I got neutered (whatever that is) and I am not agitated anymore, which is nice. I just had a terrible experience – I spent 5 weeks at a pound and my parents never came back to get me; in fact, they put me there! My foster mom Helen was told that I needed to be spayed by the pound people; so, in I went (under anesthesia et al). My new vet did not cut me because he say my OLD SPAY SCAR. I have really just finished major traumas! Help me be revered again. I am fine with dogs and cats and children and even BUGS (which I love to watch) and SUNLIGHT (which is where I sleep in my new window). Call about me please. Lucky Libbie. We call this pretty kitten Lucky Libbie for a very good reason. When she was much smaller she was one of two kittens that climbed into a car engine in the apartment complex where she was homeless. Libbie survived with two small cuts but the other kitten did not. She then ran and hid but a nice man who lived in the complex and rescues the homeless cats and kittens found her and took her to the vet for treatment. Libbie was then taken to a temporary CARE foster home to heal and she shared her kitty room with Beth who had been born to the sister of Libbie’s mother so I guess they are cousins. Libbie is now healthy with a sweet disposition and she loves to play and enjoy not being homeless. Libbie and Beth are now in the perfect foster home with two little girls that give them love and good care. She would be a the perfect addition to any family.

She can be an inside/outside cat.

Hi, I am Kissie. I was pregnant at a rural pound. I was just about to give birth when I was rescued by a group. I gave birth the next day but was having a very hard time. My foster mom took me to the VEC at about midnight so I could get help.

Do you know it was about $2,000 to save my life and I was/am that important? I have had all my healthy kittens adopted. It is now time for me, a dark tortie, to get a forever home. I have become very loving, a lot of fun, playful, and sweet and cuddly. I am only 2 years old, if that (my birth certificate has been lost).

Hi, I am Heidi.

I am 5 years old and the most loving animal on the EAST COAST. I NEVER use my claws. I am not a shy animal. I love to jump on the refrigerator and survey the sights (just so happens my foster mom keeps a Budda her deceased dad loved there so that NO cats will break it). Ha Ha! So far I have been gentle with Budda!

I am fine with dogs and fine with other cats OR I would be great as an only pet . My story is long, but in essence: I was owned by a young adult, she died, her mother took me to keep, and soon her mother decided to euthanize me but the vet refused; so he gave me to Helen for help me get a SAFE forever home...

I am a female 6 month kitty, cute as cotton candy! I have a super personality and love everything in this world, so far. I might be about 6 months old. My birthday is unknown and I remember nothing about my parents. My sibling is Carlotta on the site.....She and I are good friends but do not need to be adopted together. Foster mom Helen and her dog Buddy took us from death row at a rural pound where most of the animals die...so sad.

I am the sister to Charles. The only thing we have in common is white fur and a great disposition AND our age which is about 5 to 6 months. We are mellow and playful and gentle cats. Our claws are NEVER used except on a scratching post. Our time was up at a pound. Another rescue group showed up, selected 31 felines, and left us. That meant DOOM for us; however, volunteers came the next day and rescued 5 adults (the other group only took tiny kittens).

I have been in a pound CAGE for over 5 weeks straight. I know the people there have no choice, but being caged up that long, even a day, is hard on any cat or dog.

I just got rescued by a volunteer on Dec. 18th, my lucky day from now on. I am in a great foster home with lots of other animals and plenty of running room.

My foster mom is Helen. I am great with all the other cats and her two dogs. My age is estimated by the vet to be between one and two.
