AARF Board of Directors was formed in 2000. Through their
efforts and guidance, AARF hopes to be able to help many
more Richmond animals. Please read below to find out more
about the exceptional people who comprise our Board of
Directors. |
| Jonathan
Campbell - Jonathan is an attorney with Williams, Mullen,
Clark & Dobbins. He looks forward to being active in the
fundraising efforts of AARF. |

Conrad Garcia - Conrad is a tax attorney with Williams,
Mullen, Clark & Dobbins. He looks forward to being active
in the fundraising efforts of AARF. |

James
Hunter, Jr. DVM - Dr. Hunter is a native of the West
End of Richmond. He is married and the proud father
of 2 children. He is a graduate of the University of
Virginia and the Virginia Tech College of Veterinary
Medicine. While at Virginia Tech
Dr. Hunter was elected to membership in the Phi Zeta
Honor Society and graduated in the top 10% of his class.
He is currently a member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Hunter is an approved AARF Vet, AARF adoptor, and
pet owner.

| Sue
Mullins is director of equine programs and sponsorships
with Atlantic Rural Exposition. Sue is active with a number
of non-profit and civic associations including the Friends
of the Richmond Mounted Squad dedicated to Richmond's
police horses. |
| Janice
Lynch - Janice, a long-time AARF volunteer and acting
"Dog Chair" since "97, also served as President of AARF
for the years 1998 & 99. With husband Mark and son Dylan,
who also volunteer their time, moved to Richmond from
Ct. in Jan. of '97 and quickly became involved in the
welfare of the animals of AARFand the day to day work
involved with rescue |
| Kat
Simons - Kat joined our Board of Directors in 2002. She
is a very popular DJ on Lite 98 who often helps promote
animal events. Kat has helped AARF by being the emcee
for "An Evening with AARF." |
| Cindy
Chiles-Smith - Cindy first joined AARF about 2 years ago
when she ran into one of AARF's stands at Petsmart. She
volunteered to help bottle-feed kittens and then puppies.
Cindy has been rescuing and fostering puppies and dogs
ever since. She helps at the adoption stands, submits
web site articles & pictures to the Petfinders web site,
sends updates to the AARF web site, and makes deliveries.
Cindy has also been instrumental in helping with various
fundraising events such as the auction and Paws in the
Park, as well as obtaining donations for AARF. |
| Charlene
Wood - Charlene will be with AARF 4 years in October and
is currently AARF's president. She first became introduced
to AARF when she rescued an abused dog from her neighbor.
Charlene started working at the kennel and began working
with Janice to find homes for abandoned animals. Charlene
contributes a great deal to the organization. She delivers
dogs to their new homes, helps at the adoption stands,
and takes care of all the dogs at the kennel. She responds
to the volunteer line and helps to find new foster homes.
Charlene also helps with special events and is responsible
for placing weekly ads in the newspaper. |
